Paphos is a coastal city in the southwest of Cyprus that is steeped in history but has found its balance with modern tourism in a vibrant and sophisticated way. The city of Paphos has so many sites of archaeological and historical significance that it has been declared a UNESCO world heritage site and it boasts one of the most magnificent Roman mosaic sites within its harbour area, an area that is also bustling with restaurants and bars with the backdrop of a medieval fort – the epitome of celebrating old and new.
Paphos was selected as the European city of culture in 2017, alongside Aarhus in Denmark, resulting in a multi-million euro investment programme that really gave the city a boost, most notably in the Old Town area which is ultra-cool and brimming in backstreet coffee houses, restaurants and bars. Beaches are of course plentiful in the region, from white-sanded Coral Bay, to the shores of the charming fishing town of Latchi where boat trips to the Akamas National Park peninsula are an absolute highlight.
The Paphos region boasts many property investment opportunities, from the centrally located Universal area in the heart of Kato Paphos, to impressive villas in the Sea Caves area in Peyia. The diversity of properties for sale in Paphos is wide and the area is a true pleasure to both reside or holiday in.
