Living in Paphos
What are the benefits of living in Paphos?
Once a quiet fishing town, Paphos has now become a popular tourist destination, attracting visitors from across the globe, but it is not just tourists that enjoy this beautiful coastal town; there are many benefits of living in Paphos full or part-time too. Paphos is small enough to get around easily, whether it’s from old town to the harbour, or from one large supermarket to another, and the highway is never far away either – making light work of accessing villages, mountains, Limassol and beyond.
One of the benefits of living in Paphos is that it is currently experiencing solid economic growth and increased foreign investment, resulting in increased value in property investment here. Demand is high, especially in the residential sector, with a notable increase in young professionals buying modern apartments, and families and expats being the primary buyers of larger properties in the suburban and coastal areas. The ‘municipality’ are proactive and are passionately improving public areas across the town, more recently noticeable in the harbour area and in Old Town.
Life in Paphos is a breeze, this coastal destination is packed with a variety of highlights – the gorgeous coastal path that stretches from Geroskipou beach right past Chloraka, the fantastic array of restaurants and bars (from traditional kebab houses to fine dining, spitting sawdust pubs to trendy clubs), a gorgeous harbour that glimmers with the Med and buzzes with the hustle of tourists enjoying its beauty, ancient mosaics and ruins that beautifully depict Greek history in their now modern setting, shopping – from handmade crafts in old town boutiques, to tacky tourist ware at the harbour, to high street fashion in the Mall, there really is something for everyone.
It’s not just the facilities that are varied in Paphos; the areas are too. From Latchi fishing harbour, to the Akamas peninsula and national park, from the city lights to the peaks of the stunning Paphos forest and from the beaches to the golf resorts.
It’s easy to stay fit and healthy here, run down the coastal path, hike in the Paphos forest, frequent one of the many gyms, sea swim every morning – its’ all on your doorstep.
